● From October 6 2023 to March 31 2024, FAR+ test will co-exist with FAR test and the failed test result will not block the certification. But developers will be encouraged to fix any defects found during the test.

The purpose of this WG is to evolve PCI Express technology in an optical-friendly manner, supporting a wide range of optical technologies, including developing optical specific form-factors.
● Scope of Optical Cable WG:
- The base specification enhancements will occur in the existing WGs. The purpose of the Optical Cable WG is to evaluate a variety of optical technologies, identify associated requirements, and ensure that the base specification enhancements satisfy those requirements. This WG will also be responsible for proposing any form-factor enhancements, including new ones, and may develop a set of metrics.

● Thunderbolt 5 host certification policy:
- 1. Intel will only provide subsidy for 20 ports of each brand, but this limitation is only for TBT5 laptop, for TBT5 desktop, there is no limitation.
- 2. The same policy as TBT3/4 host, Intel only provides subsidy for Standard Certification Process(SCP) projects.
- 3. TBT5 Host EV subsidy includes both TBT4 and TBT5 EV

● Products implementing EPR must be tested against 2 of the 4 test equipment. If Ellisys is used then another test equipment must be used to test the PHY and POW sections of the CTS.
● Please note the following restrictions:
- The USB-IF is not certifying products with more than one EPR capable source port at this time.
- What this means is a product may be multi-port and have only one EPR capable source port but it may have more than one EPR capable sink port. Products may also have an SPR capable source port and an EPR capable source port.
